Director of Channel Development - Healthcare Payers

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Channel Development specializing in the healthcare payer sector, to lead our company's efforts in expanding our market presence by maintaining existing and creating new strategic partnerships with healthcare payers. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and managing our healthcare channel team, including sales professionals and support staff, to drive our business objectives. With a deep understanding of the healthcare industry and a proven track record of securing nationwide contracts for providers, the ideal candidate will play a critical role in our growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Existing Partnership Development and Expansion: Actively maintain and grow existing partnerships with healthcare payers and organizations, ensuring continuous engagement and identifying opportunities for further collaboration and expansion to enhance overall business growth.
    • Strategic Partnership Development: Identify, develop, and maintain strategic relationships with healthcare payers to expand our market presence and achieve sales targets.
    • Team Leadership: Build, manage, and lead a team of sales professionals and channel development specialists focused on the healthcare payer sector.
    • Contract Negotiation: Utilize industry expertise to negotiate and secure nationwide contracts with healthcare payers, ensuring competitive terms and mutual benefits.
    • Market Analysis: Conduct a comprehensive market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges within the healthcare payer sector to inform strategy development.
    • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with sales, marketing, and product development teams to align channel development strategies with company objectives.
    • Performance Metrics: Establish, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to channel development and team performance.

    Qualifications

    • Experience: Minimum of 15 years of professional experience, with at least 3-5 years focused on selling to health plans. Demonstrated success in obtaining nationwide contracts for providers and leading sales teams is required.
    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field. An MBA or relevant graduate degree is preferred.
    • Skills: Exceptional negotiation, communication, and presentation skills. Deep knowledge of the healthcare payer market and regulatory landscape. 
    Leadership: Proven leadership abilities and team management skills. Strong track record of leading and motivating teams to achieve sales targets and develop successful partnerships.
